What is "Ring A Reading Buddy"?
CSDirectory.com now has a free* reading service to anyone who needs to be read to over the phone. Our volunteers will gladly make arrangements to read a current periodical article or article of your choice from the Bound Volumes, portions of Science and Health, a Christian Science lecture transcript, a portion of a Mary Baker Eddy biography, etc. [Reading sessions are about 30 minutes.] This is a worldwide "Care Committee" type activity, and is open to anyone [currently, this is an English, French and Spanish reading service].

Do you or someone you know have a need to be read to?
Register to be a "Listening Buddy". Please call: 602-635-1987. 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time (Noon - 11:00 p.m.GMT) or click here to register as a "Listening Buddy" online (free).

If you do not have access to "cheap" long distance service or free cell phone minutes, we'll try to have one our our Reading Buddies call you who does have this service, so that the call is free to you. Click here for inexpensive long distance calling options.

Just had our first session reading with _____. Don't know which of us came away more filled with gratitude and a very wonderful, wonderful sense of good and joy for the experience. Reading is filling a special need for me and obviously for him, too. Will keep you posted from time to time.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Do the "Reading Buddies" come to my home?
A: No, this is a service completely through the telephone.

Q: Do I as the recipient have to pay for the long distance phone calls to me?
A: We try to set up your reading sessions with "Reading Buddies" who have "cheap" long distance service or who have free minutes available to them on their cell phones. If YOU have these minutes available to you, please let us know. In some cases, the recipient will be asked to call their "Reading Buddy".

Q: How can this service be free?
A: Our "Reading Buddies" have volunteered their time. And, where possible, the "Reading Buddy" will make the calls to the recipient, so there will be no long distance charges for the recipeint.

Q: If I would like to be a "Reading Buddy", how much time a week must I devote to this service?
A: As much or little as you would like. Sessons usually last a half hour and you can do as many or as few as your schedule will allow.
