"Biblical Translation: Conveying the Word of God"

Description: Because we are beginning to see other translations used in the Bible Lessons, it is a good time to learn a little more about the history and process of Bible translation. Without translation, ancient texts would have long ago ceased to be read. Translation keeps the inspired word alive throughout all generations for the many who will never learn those original languages. Let us together lift thought to see the universal purposes which all translators have unselfishly lived and worked, and sometimes died for.  

If you have a favorite text that you would like to learn more about, please submit it no later than two days before the event so that I can see what might be interesting in it for you.

Duration / tuition: this seminar is 1 session long and lasts 90 minutes

Your speaker:

Galen Goldsmith has a Master of Arts in Religion from Illiff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado and  Master of Arts in Philosophy in Classical Hebrew from Cambridge University in England.  She is proficient in the three Biblical languages, Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic; Galen has read the entire Bible in its original languages; and reads the Bible Lessons without any translation!  In addition to getting these degrees she has served as a Christian Science nurse and is now devoting full time to prayer and study.  She is class instructed and a member of The Mother Church and of the Cambridge branch church.
