AUSTIN-LETT, GENELLE
LCGA001 - THE NATIVITY
LISTEN: audio sample of this seminar (mp3)»
Description: This seminar explores the reason for the Nativity stories. We'll discuss Matthew's account and Luke's account — why there are two different stories and not just one. We'll look at symbols of the evening of Jesus birth that carry into Jesus' life. And we'll also discuss John's account of the Nativity.
LCGA002 - THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST
LISTEN: audio sample of this seminar (mp3)»
Description: Jesus' passion week is filled with messages for his disciples and for each of us. Jesus was on a mission, he was not a lamb led to the slaughter. We'll take a day-by-day look at Jesus' dominion and the lessons he taught his disciples leading up to the crucifixion. We will examine in detail some of the major events leading up to resurrection morning.
LCGA003 - THE TEN COMMANDMENTS: THE CENTERPIECE OF COMMUNITY
Description: We'll examine some of the original meanings associated with the Hebrew Decalogue, explore Jesus' use of these commandments, and apply their effectiveness in giving a Christian Science treatment.

LCNB001 - ADAM DICKEY: ALWAYS IN GOD'S HOUSEHOLD
Description: "Adam Dickey: Living Always in the Household of God" covers Dickey's life as a family member and businessman, his early career as a pioneering Christian Scientist in Kansas City, his service in the household of Mary Baker Eddy where he absorbed profound lessons in metaphysics from the Leader, and his career as representative of the Board of Directors of The Mother Church 1910 through the Great Litigation and beyond. The workshop includes insights on the writing of his book Memoirs of Mary Baker Eddy and some analysis of the directions of his teaching and spiritual leadership as well as possible lessons for our movement today from this leader in the pioneering generation.

CAVALLI, DR. ALEX
LCAC001 - THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO ST. JOHN: A PERFORMER'S PERSPECTIVE
Description: Many have studied The Gospel of John, many have read it aloud from the platform, many theologians and scholars have written exegeses of it or sermons about it, but there is nothing quite like performing the Gospel to bring its deep metaphysics to light. Alex Cavalli has been performing the Gospel of John for almost 20 years. During this hour-long session, we’ll talk about the heart of what the Gospel is about, how it always operates on two levels of thought, and how important it is to Christian Science.
LCAC002 - TRUE LEADERSHIP: ITS SOUND METAPHYSICAL BASIS
Description: There are many forms of human leadership, from the best to the worst. But we can ask, “Is there a sound metaphysical basis for true leadership? And, if so, how can this be brought into our human experience?” As in so many other instances the Bible provides us with the answers. This talk will explore, briefly, the nature of true leadership as evidenced in the Bible and the teachings of Christian Science with some examples from the history of mankind.
LCAC003 - 21ST CENTURY TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCES: TOWARDS A HIGHER CONCEPT OF MAN
LISTEN: audio sample of this seminar (mp3)»
Description: Christian Science with its understanding of spiritual man is uniquely positioned to help the world make spiritual sense of the "new technologies" of the 21st Century including nanotech, biotech, cognitive science and artificial intelligence, robotics, computers, and networks. During this session we will explore these new fields and try to get to the heart of what motivates advances in science and technology and why these particular fields of endeavor are changing, not just the physical, but the mental landscape for humanity. In particular we will focus on humanity’s changing concept of "man" and what this means for Christian Scientists – our prayer and our place in the world.
LCAC004 - THE CONVERGENCE OF THOUGHT
Description: Humanity is discovering that it is no longer possible to separate science and technology, art, business, and theology and religion. Although mankind has tried for centuries to keep these disciplines of thought and action separate and distinct, we can no longer do so. During this conversation we'll explore, from the perspective of Christian Science, how this is happening, why it is happening, and what it means to humanity.
LCAC005 - THE LANGUAGE OF CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
LISTEN: audio sample of this seminar (mp3)»
Description: Every Christian Scientist experiences a moment, when talking to a non-Christian Scientist, where the language we use (a language that we all learn from Mrs. Eddy) seems to completely confuse the individual we are talking to. 100 years after our textbook was finalized, the language can seem archaic and outdated. To the contrary, however, Mrs. Eddy painstaking and carefully developed a scientific language with which to understand and communicate the metaphysics of Divine Science. During this conversation we will explore the nature of the scientific language and why it is still important to use the language as it was first laid down in Mrs. Eddy's writings. Duration: 1 hour 11 minutes
LCAC006 - MAN IS NOT ELECTRICAL, HE IS SPIRITUAL
Description: Christian Scientists endeavor daily to discern the changing landscape of mortal beliefs so that they can be seen, reversed, and defeated. One ever growing element in human thought regarding man is the belief that human beings, beyond just being material, are electrical creatures. This belief, that human beings are electrical, is an increasingly important pathway for modern technologies to claim to alter the human body itself and to extend and improve it beyond what are considered “bodily” limitations. This talk will try to make Christian Scientists more familiar with this new element in thought in the 21st Century.
c - ISSUES OF THOUGHT FOR CS PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS AND SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS IN A DIGITAL AGE
Description: "New technologies" of the 21st Century including nanotech, biotech, cognitive science and artificial intelligence, robotics, computers, and networks are in the news every week. Our children are bombarded by them - and many are using these new technologies as second nature. We will focus on what some of these new technologies are and how to make sense of them in relation to raising our children in Christian Science.

CHAIGNOT, MARY JANE
LCMC001 - LOVE OUR ENEMIES
Description: At a time when everyone seems divided by labels (red/blue, conservative/liberal), it might be helpful to spend some time thinking about how to treat our “enemies.” Jesus’ message was clear: we’re supposed to love them, pray for them, and do good to them. But these ideas were not unique to him. The Old Testament story of Jonah lays out the expectations. It also acknowledges just how hard that can be. In this session, we will talk about that story and the lessons and insights that are applicable for all of us in today’s world.
LCMC002 - PAUL AND WOMEN - by Mary Jane Chaignot
LISTEN: audio sample of this seminar (mp3)»
Description: Not too many people would disagree about Paul’s influence in the church. 13 of the 27 books in the New Testament have been attributed to him. More than half of Acts is focused on him. In fact, for better or worse, he was probably the founder of Christianity, as we know it. But some of Paul’s statements about women in 1 Corinthians are more than troubling, for example: “It is good for a man not to touch a woman.” (7:1) “The head of every man is Christ; the head of a woman is man.” (11:3) “Man is the image and glory of God, and the woman is the glory of man.” (11:11) And my personal favorite, “Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; … for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.” (14:34-35) In this session we will be looking at these texts and giving them some context in our attempt to understand Paul better. Duration: 1 hour 23 minutes
LCMC003 - WOMEN OF GENESIS: PART 1 - HAGAR AND SARAH
Description: This seminar discusses the significance of Hagar and Sarah from Genesis. Even though Hagar was a foreigner among God's people, she received promises similar to Abraham's. She was the only Old Testament woman who experienced a theophany, and it happened to her twice. She also was the recipient of a promise of land and of many descendants. We must remember this. She was not an Israelite; she was not a man. Yet God made the promises to her -- a non-Israelite, a woman.
LCMC004 - WOMEN OF GENESIS: PART 2 - REBEKAH, LEAH AND RACHEL
Description: This seminar discusses the significance of Rebekah, Leah and Rachel from Genesis. It is Rebekah who insures the transmission of God's promises; Rebekah is the link between Abraham and his descendants. Generally, in a patriarchal society that honor should have gone to her husband, Isaac. But let's read her story. Given some very difficult circumstances, she was the one who was supremely obedient in seeing that God's decree would be fulfilled.
LCMC005 - WOMEN OF GENESIS: PART 3 - DINAH
Description: Imagine what it's like to have four mothers and twelve brothers! Dinah is not a matriarch, in any sense of the word. She does not marry; she does not accompany a husband to God's promised land. So who is she, and what can be said about her life? Dinah's family thought for her, acted for her, kidnapped her, and killed for her. She is silent throughout. Hers is a sorry story where someone controls every aspect of her life. Still the lessons from Dinah are profound.
LCMC006 - THE BEATITUDES
Description: Anyone who is even slightly familiar with the Bible will have heard of the Sermon on the Mount. The Beatitudes, the Lord's Prayer are pretty well known. And who hasn't heard of the golden rule, or been instructed to turn the other cheek, to go the extra mile, to love one's enemies, or to stay on the straight and narrow? But actually putting these into practice – ah, that's the hard part. Hear this lively account of the Sermon, both in Jesus' time and ours.
LCMC007 - INSIDERS AND OUTSIDERS: THE BOOK OF MARK
Description: In Mark 4:10-12 Jesus tells his disciples that they have been given the mystery of the kingdom. To those "without," however, he speaks in parables so that they may see, but not perceive; and hear, but not understand; "lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.” I’m guessing that most people hear this passage with the ears of those who are given to know the mystery. We do not generally consider ourselves part of the group that is “without”. We are surely “within” and maybe we even feel a bit sorry for the ones who are “without”. Basically then, it seems, this is a statement addressing the issue of those who are inside and those who are outside. We are the insiders; they would be the outsiders. But anyone who knows Mark’s gospel should also know that such distinctions might be a lot more fluid than we’d like to think.
LCMC008 – RUTH: PART 1
Description: If there was ever a biblical story that exemplified the refrain, "And they all lived happily ever after," it would be the book of Ruth. Ruth is only four chapters long, and by everyone’s standards, it is a delightful little story that warms the reader's heart. It might be history’s first love story. But if that’s all we get out of this account, then we’ve settled for a sorry and superficial reading of the book. Ruth is so much more than a simple love story. Some think the main purpose of the story was to provide connections between the patriarchs and David -- showing that the divine force that was leading the patriarchs was also at work in David's ancestry. In other words, this book has a political agenda. Others think the author intended to rebut the nationalism imposed by Ezra and Nehemiah. Maybe so. But the reality is that Ruth highlights the personal qualities of David's great-grandmother not his great-grandfather. It is very much a woman's story, and it is told from a woman's perspective. It has a lot to say about God and how God worked in the lives of these two women to accomplish His goals.
LCMC009 – RUTH: PART 2
LCMC010 - THECLA: EARLY CHRISTIAN HEALER AND WOMAN CONTEMPORARY OF PAUL
LISTEN: audio sample of this seminar (mp3)»
Description: Shortly after the death and resurrection of Jesus, Christians began writing all sorts of books. Some recorded the words and works of Jesus. Others focused on the words and works of the apostles. Some wrote letters; some wrote prophetic revelations; some of the authors claimed to be eyewitnesses. Some of them claimed to be the apostles that were with Jesus. But some writings were written by anonymous authors who claimed to be an apostle, or Paul, or someone else.
One of the stories from the Acts of Paul is about a disciple named Thecla, who was highly influential in early Christianity, based on several statements made about her by early church fathers. Of Thecla they have said: “she was venerated from the shores of the Caspian almost to the shores of the Atlantic.” Yet, we know nothing about her. Since about 1980, scholars have been very interested in Thecla. Women scholars have said that, even if her life was completely fictional, it is so significant that in the second-century among Paul’s disciples, a woman could be teaching and evangelizing on her own. And it is also possible that her story illustrates how women who chose to go against the grain by not marrying or getting engaged or staying married to unbelievers might have contributed to the growing animosity between early Christian groups and Greco-Roman society. There is no doubt that Thecla, with Paul's blessing, was a missionary in her own right. As it is, people are only beginning to look at Thecla’s life and influence. And maybe someday, Thecla will be a household name once again.

LCLD001 - SCIENCE IN MRS EDDY'S DAY
LISTEN: audio sample of this seminar (mp3)»
Description: During this seminar we will be looking at some of the scientific breakthroughs that were going on as Mary Baker Eddy was founding the Christian Science movement -- things she was aware of and took lessons from for her writings. We will also explore how far ahead, scientifically, she was. Duration: 1 hour plus an amazing 20+ minute Q&A period
LCLD002 - QUANTUM PHYSICS AND METAPHYSICS
Description: Over the past century, since the discovery of quantum physics, concepts of reality in the natural scientific community have fundamentally changed. The experimenter can no longer be separated from his experiment, the elementary particles that constitute things do not exist until they are observed, and knowledge (or even potential knowledge) about events supposedly in the past can presently change what that past was supposed to have been. In this short class we will look at some of the people (including Einstein) who studied the nature of light in order to test concepts of reality. In particular, we shall discuss in some detail a cosmic quantum experiment that might be performed soon. In the conclusions we shall point out that quantum physicists are discovering the mental nature of reality in ways that may be familiar to Christian Scientists, concluding things about reality that Mrs. Eddy had already written about more than a century before.
LCLD003 - ANIMAL COMMUNICATIONS: A LINK TO THE GREATER
Description: In this one-hour lecture we will discuss some recent research being done to try to understand and measure the complexity of animal communication systems. In particular, some research with bottlenose dolphins will show how their communication system maybe develop from simple to complex system as baby dolphins reach adulthood. Also, we will discuss how measuring humpback whale communication systems may help us understand their reaction to humanly induced environmental conditions. The program will contain an audio component so that we can actually hear what various animal communication systems sound like.
LCLD004 - AN OVERVIEW OF NATIVE AMERICAN HISTORY, CULTURE AND SPIRITUALITY
Description: This one-hour lecture is a summary of a ten week course taught at Principia College. Many aspects of Native American culture are familiar to us, but we may not know that they are Native American in origin. Some aspects of Native American history we may find surprising, other aspects -- such as some spiritual teachings -- we may find quite recognizable. The class consists of instruction but also many personal experiences with Native Americans and the teachings of Native American elders.

LCJF001 - FIRST LESSONS OF THE SUNDAY SCHOOL: PREPARING OUR PASSAGE FROM SENSE TO SOUL: PART 1 - THE TEN COMMANDMENTS
LISTEN: audio sample of this seminar (mp3)»
Description: If we were to venture on some great journey, how would we prepare ourselves? Wouldn’t we study the route, become aware of the conditions and acquire supplies needed for our trip? Wouldn’t we want to be outfitted with everything necessary for success? Otherwise, our journey would be difficult and haphazard.
All mankind must make a spiritual journey. We must leave the false belief of life in matter to the realization of life in Spirit. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer of Christian Science, writes,
“As the children of Israel were guided triumphantly through the Red Sea, the dark ebbing and flowing tides of human fear,--as they were led through the wilderness, walking wearily through the great desert of human hopes, and anticipating the promised joy,--so shall the spiritual idea guide all right desires in their passage from sense to Soul, from a material sense of existence to the spiritual, up to the glory prepared for them who love God.” (S&H 566:1-9)
In the Christian Science Sunday School, the Ten Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer and the Beatitudes are designated as the student’s First Lessons and form a basis for understanding Christian Science. All three lessons present clear examples of man’s passage from sense to Soul.

LCGG001 - BIBLICAL TRANSLATION: CONVEYING THE WORD OF GOD
LISTEN: audio sample of this seminar (mp3)»
Description: Because we are beginning to see other translations used in the Bible Lessons, it is a good time to learn a little more about the history and process of Bible translation. Without translation, ancient texts would have long ago ceased to be read. Translation keeps the inspired word alive throughout all generations for the many who will never learn those original languages. Let us together lift thought to see the universal purposes which all translators have unselfishly lived and worked, and sometimes died for. Duration: 1 hour 18 minutes
LCGG002 - INTRODUCTION TO BIBLICAL GREEK: PART 1
Description: We have offered 2 series on an introduction to Biblical Greek. You will receive both series with this seminar purchase. Series A focuses on the Lord's Prayer. We will also have on-line access to a project called One Bible, a tool that explains why the Greek text of Mark has been translated in various ways. Series B introduces key aspects of Biblical Greek through focusing on passages from the BIble Lesson.
Series 1: This series should provide students with the skill to pronounce Greek names and places when reading aloud, to learn more about New Testament concepts that interest them, and they will carry away new insights into the Lord's Prayer. Those who want to master New Testament Greek should be prepared for the study of grammar and vocabulary.
Series 2: The Greek class this year will be centered around verses in the Christian Science Bible lesson selected weeks. Fundamentals of the Greek language will be included, but are not the focus of this series. Instead, the student will learn how to learn more about New Testament verses by exploring their vocabulary, how to compare and evaluate translations, and some of the reasons translations differ from one another. The goal of the course is to teach skills that will give the student a better sense of what the scripture means so as to inspire and instruct with ever more precision. Because so few students will ever again need to know the intricacies of Greek grammar, skills that can be used in daily study will take precedence. For the student who wants to become proficient in Greek, this will be a general introduction, and dedicated study should be pursued by tutorial, independently, or in a university setting.
Series A - Part 1: The Gospels: We will begin with a discussion of how each gospel has a distinctive style that serves its message. We will then compare three versions of the Lord's prayer from Matthew, Mark and Luke. Assignment: Learn to use One Bible.
Series B - Part 1: The seven synomyns for God; Greek notes from Bible passages on Life
Click here for an audio sample of this seminar (mp3)»
LCGG003 - INTRODUCTION TO BIBLICAL GREEK: PART 2

In some cases, a Greek word would take on a new and different meaning because of its place in the Christian message. Assignment: Learn to recognize and pronounce the letters of the Greek alphabet.
Series B - Part 2: Greek notes from Bible passages on Truth
LCGG004 - INTRODUCTION TO BIBLICAL GREEK: PART 3
Series A - Part 3: Pronunciation of the Greek alphabet: students will begin to read by learning how to say the Lord's Prayer in Greek. Assignment: Vocabulary from the Lord's Prayer.
Series B - Part 3: Greek notes from Bible passages on Love
LCGG005 - INTRODUCTION TO BIBLICAL GREEK: PART 4
Series A - Part 4: Meaningful words: We will learn to look up Greek vocabulary words in Strong's Concordance lexicon and a theological dictionary of the New Testament. Assignment: Research on the spiritual meaning of your favorite vocabulary word(s).
Series B - Part 4: Greek notes from Bible passages on Spirit
LCGG006 – INTRODUCTION TO BIBLICAL GREEK: PART 5
Series A - Part 5: Greek grammar of Matthew's Lord's Prayer: Most beginning Greek students need a review of English grammar. We will discuss the basic parts of speech so that students will be able to understand the Greek prayer they have learned to say.
Series B - Part 5: Greek notes from Bible passages on Substance

Description: Five 1-hour classes sessions exploring the Bible and themes running through it.
Part 4: The Gospels and related works, which are Matthew, Mark, Luke-Acts, John, and I, 2, 3 John. The gospels tell the story of Jesus, each from a different perspective and for a different audience. Matthew, Mark and Luke focus on the Galilean ministry of Jesus, telling very similar stories. John records many unique Jerusalem speeches. The letters of John are addressed to the community that produced the Gospel of John. Acts is a second volume that goes on from Luke to tell how the apostles brought forth Christian churches.
LCGG011 - THE WHOLE BIBLE COURSE - PART 5: THE EPISTLES AND THE APOCALYPSE
Description: Five 1-hour classes sessions exploring the Bible and themes running through it.
Part 5: The Epistles and Apocalypse, including Romans, I and 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, I and 2 Thessalonians, 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews, James, 1 and 2 Peter, Jude, and Revelation. The letters record the founding of Gentile Christianity from the very early ministry of Paul up to the second century of the Christian Era. Finally, the Apocalypse closes the circle of salvation by foretelling the realized spiritual creation.
LCGG012 - THE BIBLICAL CONCEPT OF GOD
Description: “A perfect God is the noblest work of man.”
The Old Testament name of God is like a verb for what God does, so we will work at understanding that single activity that characterizes God. We will be learning about God from the Bible, working to illumine your own concept of God by bringing out the spiritual sense of ancient texts.
LCGG013 - PAUL: FROM TERROR TO LOVE
LISTEN: audio sample of this seminar (mp3)»
Description: Paul practically replaced Judas Iscariot as the twelfth apostle, becoming one of the chief architects of Christianity. His story is very interesting, and his thoughts are fascinating. His letters continue to provide timely advice on practical problems within churches, and profound reflection on the salvation offered by Jesus Christ. The letter to the Philipians will be the subject of this seminar because here we find Paul's reflections about letting that mind be in us which was also in Christ Jesus. Duration: 1 hour 34 minutes
LCGG014 - FATHER, SON AND HOLY GHOST: THE TRINITY IN CHRISTIAN HISTORY AND CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
Description: Was the Christian concept of Father, Son and Holy Ghost derived from the Bible? How did it evolve in the first centuries of Christianity, and why did it become so important? What spiritual reality were the early Church fathers trying to describe? What did they mean by "person"? How were the three terms, Life, Truth and Love in the writings of Mary Baker Eddy parallel to the Trinity? How did they differ? If a branch bears fruit only by abiding in the vine, every branch of Christianity must abide in the vine of Christ. How is Christian Science rooted in the vine of classic Christian thought on this subject, and in what ways is it a branch bearing the distinctive fruit of spiritual healing? Please join us as we delve into Christian history to illumine and enrich uplifted faith today.
LCGG015 - AN INTRODUCTION TO BIBLICAL HEBREW: PART 1

LCGG020 - OUR SUFFICIENT GUIDE
Description: Because we take the inspired word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal life, this seminar discusses the subject of biblical inspiration. It is a two way street, for not only is scripture given by inspiration, it is received by inspiration. Inspiration then influences our "performance" of scritpure--how we live, what we think, our choices.
LCGG021 - A SINGLE SUBSTANCE
Description: Early Christians were engaged in heated discussions about Jesus, God, and their relation. The Apostolic Creed held that Jesus was of a single substance with the Father. This concept is limited to Jesus, but it is does establish that key point of the Scientific Statement of Being: Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness, therefore he is not material, he is spiritual.
LCGG022 - BIBLICAL MODELS OF COMMUNITY
Description: The first five books of the Bible contain a blueprint for a good society. In the New Testament, Paul and others advised their fledgling Christian communities on how to live together and cope with problems that we all can relate to. In our seminar, we will explore some of these structures, as well as look at ancient solutions to problems within our own church communities. Participants can submit a question about a particular concern within their church communities so that we can search for a scriptural solution.

LCGG023 - THE FIRST KEY TO THE SCRIPTURES: MARY BAKER GLOVER'S EARLIEST COMMENTARY ON GENESIS
LISTEN: audio sample of this seminar (mp3)»
Description: During the three years that Mary Baker Glover was working on her first edition of Science and Health, she wrote a spiritual interpretation of every verse in the book of Genesis. She also wrote very detailed spiritual explanations for each verse in Gen. 1-4, which are her first attempts at the Key to the Scriptures for Genesis. Galen had the opportunity to study this document, called the "Genesis Manuscript." Mary Baker Glover aptly called her manuscripts “lispings” and indeed, they are filled with bluntly put ideas that rush along without punctuation. But as is so often true of a child’s speech, her first thoughts are so direct and so unflinchingly honest that one can easily see how true it is. Get acquainted with this woman before she had an audience — just pouring out her thoughts, and once in a while her fears, doubts, and defiance. For those who can listen…it is a revelation. Duration: 1 hour 12 minutes
LCGG024 - BEHOLD, I AM WITH YOU
Description: We will be exploring two and great and related biblical traditions: the promise of God’s presence, and the metaphor of the hand of God, or the divine power of God active in the world.
This first seminar will be about God’s presence with Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Gideon, David and other Old Testament heroes. When the prophets warned the people that their transgressions would lead to disaster, they also consoled them with the promise that God would make them anew and be with his people. Psalm 46:1 summarized these narratives to declare that God is a very present help in trouble. The Christian traditions about Jesus are not only that God was with him, but that he brought to human experience the presence of God with us. Revelation promises, “Lo, I am with you, even unto the end of the world.”

LCGG025 - HE HAS THE WHOLE WORLD IN HIS HANDS
Description: We will be exploring two great and related biblical traditions: the promise of God’s presence, and the metaphor of the hand of God, or the divine power of God active in the world.
This second seminar will explore the tradition that Israel was brought forth from Egypt by the strong hand and uplifted arm of the LORD, beginning with Ex. 4:13. We will dig up, carefully dust off and discern the outlines of an original story about Moses in which he prayed to be sent to Egypt in the hand of God. From this cornerstone, we will look at its many manifestations throughout Old and New Testaments. LCGG026 - COMFORT FOR THOSE WHO MOURN (Jesus destroyed death as light destroys darkness)
Description: “Christ has destroyed death, and through the Good News he has brought eternal life into full view.”
(II Tim. 1:10, God’s Word Bible).
Easter is the time to think about the inextinguishable divine Principle that brought Christ Jesus into this world, so as to bring life and immortality to light. The resurrection of Jesus illustrates that God is the absolute life of man even when the body is incapable of supporting life. Learning about the true God in Christ is the only way to utterly destroy death. It reforms, it heals, it saves, and it comforts those who mourn. During this talk, our holy contemplation will reveal the universe and man reflecting the divine Principle, Love, wherein death cannot be. Easter is so much more than spring fun; it is the salvation God and his Son have wrought for us.

KREUTZ, CHRISTA
LCKR001 - THE BOOK OF JUDGES: IS IT REALLY ALL ABOUT VIOLENCE?
Description: The book of Judges is often considered one of the most violent books of the Bible. It’s also seen as a text that was written to justify the need for the monarchy. But there is much more going on in this book and it is full of interesting tales and lessons. Particularly important to understand this book is to look at the role of the women and to understand the symbolic meanings behind the land and the Canaanites.
LCKR002 - MARY MAGDALENE AND THE GOSPEL OF MARY
Description: How did the anonymous penitent in the Gospel of Luke (chapter 7) become associated with Jesus’ disciple, Mary Magdalene? What clues do the gospels, along with the 2nd century text, The Gospel of Mary, give about Mary and her role in developing Christianity? What inspiration can we learn from Mary’s actions?
LCKR003 - THE WOMEN IN THE GOSPELS
Description: Women play prominent and significant roles in each of the gospels, yet each gospel presents them a little differently. How do they contrast and compare and what is the message from each of these gospels? We will look at the different presentations of Jesus’ mother, the anointing women, the foreign women, and the women followers of Jesus. Each gospel has a unique lesson to teach us through these women.

LCCK001 - THE BLESSINGS OF FORGIVENESS
Description: Is it possible to be forgiven for our foolish or malicious acts? And can we forgive others and truly forget the wrong they may have done us? This Bible-based lecture by Caryl Krueger shares both the "why", the "how to", and the rewards of this important aspect of a spiritualized life. True stories combine with inspiring ideas and poems to lift the burden of regrets, bring peace and patience, and show how to partner with God for a joy-filled life.
LCCK002 – FROM GREIF TO GLORY
Description: When someone passes from our sight, are we overcome with grief, or do we consider the glories of everlasting life? From Caryl Krueger's own experiences as well as those of many others, she brings the Biblical basis for overcoming self-pity, loss, and separation - leading to the acceptance of Jesus' promise of eternal life. Not a "downer", this talk will lift the listener to new heights of confident living through its solid metaphysics, comforting words, poems, and helpful true examples. It is truly glory-filled.
LCCK003 - THE LORD'S PRAYER WITH ITS SPIRITUAL INTERPRETATION
Description: Here's a fresh look at the most powerful 64 words of Jesus as well as the inspired spiritual interpretation given by Mary Baker Eddy. Find out what "hallowed", "adorable one", and "debts" have to do with your life. At the same time learn how to use this prayer every single day, following Caryl Krueger's motto "Prayer can do anything!" As this prayer becomes an active part of a new uplifting way of living, you'll never relegate it just to church services. And you'll be impressed with the nine true stories of folks who found themselves in deep trouble but were saved by understanding the words of this powerful prayer.

LCTL001 - PRACTICING CHRISTLINESS WORKSHOP: PART 1 - PRODIGAL SON AND HEALING OF THE HEMORRHAGIC WOMAN
Description: The Workshop looks at a number of Jesus' Parables using various Bible translations, so that we may better understand the spiritual ideas Jesus taught. Participants search the Bible texts to find these spiritual ideas and write them down in a worksheet. Then we study one of Jesus' healings to find how these same spiritual ideas are evidenced in Jesus' demonstration of God's law of Truth understood and applied in his healing work. The same ideas will be conveyed using different words, but this comparative study helps us comprehend better Jesus' revelation of Truth and how we can dwell in this revelation today, wherever we are. Having recorded the ideas we found in the healing, we identify their correlation with the spiritual ideas we found in the Parable. Finally we review the ideas we have found to understand how these help us to "Dwell within the revelation" John 8:32 NEB. and summarize them for our own daily use. Then we can repeat the exercise comparing eight other pairs of Parables and Healings.

The workshop series investigates the works and demonstrations of the Disciples, Apostles, and the early Church to perceive how they applied the Science of the Christ. This gives us a better understanding of the early Christian Church and how we can be more effective, healing Apostles today.

LCTL036 - BICKNELL YOUNG WORKSHOPS: PART 1 - ARTICLES
Description: Mary Baker Eddy desired to safeguard the Science of the Christ that was revealed to her and so, after Edward Kimball passed on in 1909, she agreed to the Christian Science Board of Directors appointing Bicknell Young (a Kimball student) as Teacher of the Board of Education and he taught the Normal Class in 1910.
Previously, in 1905, M.B.E. proposed that Bicknell Young be elected First Reader of The Mother Church, although this did not happen until some years later, in 1917. In 1909 she approved the Board of Directors’ selection of Bicknell Young to go to London as Lecturer, Teacher and Practitioner. Bicknell Young, like Edward Kimball, was a prominent teacher and overseas lecturer and the work by both men can be seen in Christian Science as having parallels with the work of the Apostle Paul for the establishment of the Christian Church. Bicknell’s Christian Science lectures were very well attended - "an immense audience filled Symphony Hall, Boston"; "Christian Science speaker heard by audience of 4,000 in Tomlinson Hall, Indianapolis 19 MAR 1917"; "lecturing to nearly 8,000 people in the Royal Albert Hall in London" on April 23, 1907, where, it was reported, "thousands were not able to enter the hall." Mary Baker Eddy in her letters to Bicknell Young complimented Bicknell that his lectures were perfect, wise, admirable, eloquent, convincing, inspiring, sound and adapted to the general need.
In this series of workshops on Bicknell Young we will look at his writings to understand his legacy to the Science of Christ in the same way we look to Paul’s writings to explain the metaphysics of the early Christian Church. We will commence by studying Young's lectures, and articles and then consider his Association addresses from 1910-1938. In 1937 Bicknell Young taught the Normal Class again so we will conclude by being inspired by sharing extracts from his 1937 Normal Class Notes.

LCLM001 - THE HUMAN AND THE DIVINE ECONOMY: SPIRITUAL SOLUTIONS TO ECONOMIC CHALLENGES - by Laura Moliter CS
LISTEN: audio sample of this seminar (mp3)»
Description: Our world economy appears to be suffering from instability, lack, and insecurity. Our individual financial situation and that of our churches may seem to mirror this unsettled and uncomfortable condition. Governments and individuals are working diligently to fix what appears broken, but we still seem to see a lot of struggling, and hope for progress and peace seems rather tentative and conditional.
Isn’t it about time we garner our abundant resources and put down this deception once and for all? The answer to the trouble that would seem to challenge a nation, keep us hunting for fruitful work and sufficiency, and cause us to live meagerly or cautiously, is us! The answer is a group of healers just like all of us. Dedicated and inspired Christian Science prayer and treatment is absolutely the solution. It really is the only solution, don’t you think? Duration: 1 hour
LCLM002 - DISCOVERING A LASTING AND TRUE LOVE
Description: Laura Moliter, C. S., leads this interactive workshop where participants will have the opportunity to become better acquainted with the real Love of our Life and how to settle into that perfect union. This discussion is intended to shine a light on those limiting beliefs that may seem to hide love from us and those fears that would make love feel distant or inaccessible. We will come to see more clearly our ongoing and fresh romance with Life and how much we deserve to enjoy it today and every day. The talk and discussion will utilize principles from the Bible and Science and Health, and other writings of Mary Baker Eddy. WHITEHOUSE, ANTHONY, CS
LCAW001 - DEALING WITH PERSONAL SENSE: THE KEY TO THE KINGDOM
Description: In this talk Anthony Whitehouse takes us through the issue of personal sense and describe how it must be set aside in order to get a clear understanding of Christian Science. Without binding this “ strong man “ as Jesus put it, we cannot really take on board the transformative nature of divine science. It is its elusive nature which makes it a hard issue to tackle. But Mrs. Eddy has given us the tools to do it with. And because personal sense is mesmeric in nature the talk also deals with this aspect of its nature and how to deal with it.

LCAW002 - AVOIDING THE PITFALLS OF EVIL
Description: This talk looks at the subtle ways in which evil operates and the ways in which we, in our turn can avoid the traps which it sets. Our work is not to make a reality of evil but to avoid various aspects of its mesmerism. “Error once found out is two-thirds destroyed”, as our leader tells us in Miscellaneous writings. The talk is especially helpful to those suffering from depression and long standing challenges.

LCAW003 - EFFECTIVE PRAYER IN WORLD TROUBLESPOTS
Description: In this workshop participants take part in treating Afghanistan through Christianly Scientific means. The work that the speaker and the participants do together is sharing the fruits of their labors in comparing the Bible lesson for the week of the talk (or the week preceding) with an article from a reputable newspaper or news magazine. The object of the exercise is to compare the negative statements in the news article with positive statements in the Bible lesson for the same week. For example you could find a phrase in the article stating “ The Afghan army is riven by tribal tensions”. The metaphysical work consists of going to the lesson sermon for the week to find that spiritual truth which negates this news item. You could find in the lesson sermon a healing phrase such as the words of our leader saying “
One infinite God, good, unifies men and nations; con-
24 stitutes the brotherhood of man; ends wars; fulfils the
Scripture, "Love thy neighbor as thyself;" annihilates
pagan and Christian idolatry, — whatever is wrong in
27 social, civil, criminal, political, and religious codes;
equalizes the sexes; annuls the curse on man, and leaves
nothing that can sin, suffer, be punished or destroyed.
In doing this work , you will find, much to your surprise, that each negative statement in the news article will be negated in a convincing manner by a statement from the lesson sermon. When you have finished the exercise, you will find yourself, if the work has been properly done, with a conviction that peace can reign in this trouble country. This conviction will not be one born of logic. It will be conviction born of seeing the divine Mind in action, negating every negative statement the news author holds to be true. It is with this conviction that the healing will come.
LCAW004 - WHAT MAKES HEALING A SCIENCE?
Description: A workshop on Christian Science healing which emphasizes the scientific nature of the healing process and the principles involved. The workshop is designed to demonstrate that healing is a scientific process rather than one based on personal endeavor.
Anthony takes us through six cases to illustrate the science involved in each case
- A lady calls indicating that her husband has left her for a younger woman and she wants your help in breaking the mesmeric hold this young woman has on her husband.
- A friend calls to announce that he has badly damaged his hand in a piece of machinery.
- A caller announces to you that he has pneumonia
- A young woman asks your help. She is in hospital and the hospital wants to induce labor to make sure her baby arrives on time. She does not know what to do.
- A Mother calls you in some distress because her son has dropped out of college and is living with a barmaid.
- You receive a demand for help by SMS from someone in prison in Africa

WOODSWORTH, JOHN
LCJW001 – WHAT LANGUAGE DO WE THINK IN?
Description: For three years (1978–81) I taught Russian language at Principia College, a post-secondary institution for students from Christian Science families located in south-western Illinois, just north of St-Louis (Missouri). From time to time, faculty members were invited to give ‘chapel talks’ in the college chapel, on a subject of their choosing. I decided to give my talk on language and comprehension, drawing on my long-time study of human linguistic interaction to gain new insights into the ‘language of Spirit’ (see also my article “Our native language breaks down language barriers” in The Christian Science Journal of June 1978, pp. 326–28). This study has, over the years, elucidated a number of parallels between our comprehension of human language and our understanding of the language of Spirit, and gave grist for a somewhat in-depth (and occasionally humorous) presentation of a most fascinating subject. Duration: 30 minutes.
LCJW002 – THE BOOK OF JOB
Descrption: Of this seminar John says: This came about a number of years ago when I was asked to do a presentation for our church’s Bible study group on the Book of Job, but, as it turned out, on the day they were meeting, my wife and I would be on our way to our Association in America. So it came to me to record my talk on tape, to be played at the study group’s session. This opened up a new avenue for presenting the results of my research on Job. Since the Book of Job was actually written as a play, it seemed that a dramatised presentation was a natural fit. To modernise it a bit, I decided on a dramatic reading of excerpts from the various characters’ monologues as given in the Good News Bible. One of my principal sources for information on this book was Marchette Chute’s The search for God, which cast a new and surprising light on the context of the ‘play’, particularly on the role of the young man Elihu. I was also led to explore the parallels between Job’s ‘trial’ and the ‘trial scene’ outlined by Mary Baker Eddy in Science and health (a scene which is also set forth as a play with characters and dialogue). Both dramas give new meaning to the concept of what it means to ‘search’ for God. Duration: 30 minutes.
