New First Saturday's broadcast of Julia's new "Story For The Ages" — December 2, 2006

Singer Julia Wade has performed nationally and internationally in opera, cabaret, concert work and musical theatre. Julia has just finished her new solo album of inspirational songs, UPON THE MOUNTAIN. The music and lyrics were written by Peter Link, and the music is a wonderful fusion of classical, pop and folk stylings.

On the opera stage, Julia was featured at the Rome Opera in Kurt Weill's LADY IN THE DARK. This production, conducted by Steven Mercurio and directed by Giorgio Marini, was also co-produced at Teatro Massimo, the Palermo Opera, and was televised on RAI TV throughout Italy.

Other highlights of Julia Wade's operatic work onstage include leading roles in COSI FAN TUTTE, DIE FLEDERMAUS, LE NOZZE DI FIGARO, LA BOHEME, THE MAGIC FLUTE, THE MEDIUM, HANSEL AND GRETEL, SUOR ANGELICA, THE TELEPHONE, THE FACE ON THE BARROOM FLOOR and the title role in STARBIRD. In addition, Julia created principal roles in two world premieres: Eve and The Emcee in Henry Mollicone's HOTEL EDEN, and Anna in WEST OF WASHINGTON SQUARE by Alva Henderson.

Julia has performed with the Boston Pops Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Keith Lockhart at Carnegie Hall. She has also been a guest artist at CAMI Hall and Merkin Concert Hall in New York City. Julia's solo cabaret concerts have taken her across the country as well as numerous performances at Don't Tell Mama, a well-known cabaret in New York City. In addition, Julia has performed many concerts through The American Theatre Wing, the producer of the Tony Awards, as well as appearing in the Jamie de Roy and Friends Cabaret Series at NYCís Laurie Beechman Theatre.

Regional theatre credits include Guenevere in CAMELOT, Laurie in OKLAHOMA and The White Witch in NARNIA, a musical version of THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE. In New York, Julia has been featured in numerous workshops, including KING OF HEARTS, which was produced off-Broadway by Mel Miller's Musicals Tonight!.

Julia recorded her debut solo album, THE GREATEST THING IN THE WORLD, -- a contemporary classical CD of original inspirational music by composer Peter B. Allen. The album features Julia's performance of Six Parables of Christ Jesus for voice and piano and a forty-minute oratorio for soprano and orchestra, written specifically for Julia's voice. Mary Chun conducted the chamber orchestra composed of members of the San Francisco Symphony.

Julia recently recorded two Broadway cast albums. She played the leading role of Olivia, in POMPEII, the story of what happens to her on the day that Mount Vesuvius erupts. Book and music by Dorothy Papadakis. Julia also recorded the principal role of Sister Peggy, a children's shelter director in AFRICA PLUMBRIDGE, by Sue Carey and Karena Mendoza (www.africaplumbridge.com).
