Jambo!
KENYA PROJECT, an independent,
educational philanthrophy focused exclusively on learning in Africa,
is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young people.
We have learning projects in Kenya (Ngochoni
Petals of Africa School), Ghana (Lovia
Early Childhood Development & Care Center) and
the Democratic Republic of Congo (Ecoles
du Coeur). We provide support and educational assistance
to independent, Christian Science affiliated schools in Africa
that are now thriving, thanks to the outreach and love of local
friends and donors globally. The settings of these schools range
from highly populated urban areas to the remote bush.
KENYA
PROJECT wishes to express great thanks to donors for their generous
support. In 2007, 25 educational scholarships as well as gifts
for school furnishings, teacher salaries, and other school-related
gifts were fulfilled thanks to the kindness of donors. The average
amount requested for scholarships is $286 per year for primary
school. In conclusion, the low annual cost of school tuition makes
it possible to generously share the gift of education.
KENYA
PROJECT is inspired by the love and kindness between native Africans
and caring friends working together to nurture peace, love and
harmony in community settings. An example of the outreach in Kenya
includes a Christian Science Youth Group in Kenya that initiated
funding for local education of children in “upcountry,”
who are too young to walk daily to distant schools. Their efforts
inspired the founding of Ngochoni
Petals of Africa School, where teachers and administrators
are Christian Scientists. KENYA PROJECT is committed to helping
others to help themselves. KENYA PROJECT also advises on how to
send literature in good condition to schools in Africa.
Although you may feel your gift is small; it is, in fact, very
significant. One-hundred percent (100%) of donor gifts go directly
to supporting education in Africa. Kenya Project is served by
experienced volunteers, mostly educators. Your gifts sent to Africa
by KENYA PROJECT have:
1)
Provided the means for young people in Africa to have the opportunity
for learning at preschool ages by assiting wtih annual tuition
fees, school uniforms, etc.
2) Enabled schools to pay teacher salaries
3) Provided opportunities for expansion and improvement of classrooms
and buildings
4) Funded a new well that is overflowing to serve the educational
and greater community
5) Provided annual scholarships, including to many young people
who have lost one or both parents to AIDS
KENYA PROJECT is an independent educational philanthopy working
with educators, "sister" schools and churches, caring
friends and generous donors. If you wish to send a contribution
on a monthly basis or at any time, please contact us directly
or any of our African learning projects. We are readily available
to answer any questions or provide additional information.
