Second Church of Christ, Scientist, New Orleans

Second Church New Orleans' building, which housed the church auditorim, Sunday School and Reading Room, was damaged by flood waters following Hurricane Katrina.

Like members of Fourth Church, many members of Second Church evacuated the floodridden city until the waters had retreated and it was safe to return. What they had to come back to was a heavily flood damaged building.

The membership voted to sell the building and those who have returned to New Orleans have joined with the congregation at First Church New Orleans.
