1861

October — Mrs. Patterson (Mary Baker Eddy) first reads of Dr. Phineas Parkhurst Quimby of Portland, Maine [Mary Baker Eddy, Gill p.126]

1862

October — Mrs. Patterson (Mary Baker Eddy) first meets with Dr. Phineas Parkhurst Quimby [Mary Baker Eddy, Gill p.119]

1865

October 6 — Mrs. Patterson's (Mary Baker Eddy) father, Mark Baker, passes on. [Mary Baker Eddy: Years of Discovery, Peel p.191]

1875

October 30 — First edition of Science and Health ready for sale [The Cross and the Crown p.38]

1885

October 25 — Church services in Boston moved to Chickering Hall - filled to capacity (500) [The Cross and the Crown p.129]

1889

October 29— Mrs. Eddy desolved the Massachusetts Metaphysical College, reopening it as an auxillary of her church in 1898 [Rolling Away the Stone p.100]

1893

October 1 — Ground broken for church edifice in Boston (The Mother Church) [Rolling Away the Stone p.423]

1905

October — Original Mother Church adds third service on Sundays to accomodate crowds [Rolling Away the Stone p.356]

1906

October 30 — Mrs.Eddy meets with a number of reporters at her home, Pleasant View, to dispell rumors that she was either dead or incapacitated [Mary Baker Eddy, Gill p.479]

1910

October — Mrs. Eddy requires that her picture be removed from present and future church publications [Rolling Away the Stone p.426]
