Lecture: "Solon S. Beman and Charles D. Faulkner: Founders of Christian Science Church Architecture" |
| Description |
Christian Science has an admirable, world-wide architectural record. Over 2500 buildings have been constructed comprising a beautiful legacy that is part of the history of Christian Science. Two Chicago architects -- Solon S. Beman (1853-1914) and Charles D. Faulkner (1890-1979) who both were Christian Scientists -- designed more churches than any other architects. Solon Beman promoted the Greek temple style and Charles Faulkner promoted the Colonial style. Their influence can be seen in Christian Science buildings throughout the world. This lecture presentation is profusely illustrated with photos of the work of each architect.
